Morgan has chosen Hell Yeah by Rev Theory as his entrance music. Jorge Cordes could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Craigery Morgan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jorge Cordes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Craigery Morgan!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cordes fails to land the takedown.
Cordes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Morgan is looking to clinch but Cordes is avoiding it.
Morgan tries to clinch but Cordes moves out of range.
Morgan tries to clinch up.
Morgan moves in looking to clinch but Cordes pushes him off.
Craigery Morgan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Morgan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cordes paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Morgan tries to clinch there but Cordes circles away.
Morgan tries to clinch but Cordes is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cordes blocks an uppercut.
Morgan has a couple of punches blocked by Cordes.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Morgan.
Cordes wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Cordes blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Cordes works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Cordes stops Morgan from standing up.
Cordes controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cordes trying to control but Morgan is working from the bottom.

Cordes stands up and waves to Morgan to follow him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
No luck for Cordes with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jorge Cordes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Morgan clinches but Cordes breaks the clinch

and Cordes holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Cordes has had enough of the clinch but Morgan keeps him there for the moment.
Cordes controlling the action here for a moment.

Cordes jumps guard.
Morgan prevents Cordes from getting back to his feet.

Cordes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Morgan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cordes is trying to hold Morgan in close to prevent damage but Morgan has managed to pass into half guard.

Cordes kicks Morgan off and gets back to his feet.
Morgan closes the distance but Cordes moves to the side

and Cordes counters by clinching up.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Cordes just misses with a elbow thrown towards Morgan's brow.

Cordes turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Cordes is looking to take a break and control but Morgan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Morgan parries the strikes from Cordes easily there. Cordes is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Morgan to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Cordes tries for a kimura but Morgan is defending well.
Cordes misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Morgan bucks up and tries to throw Cordes off but instead Cordes has got his back!
Morgan has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Morgan covers up after that shot from Cordes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jorge Cordes dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Cordes has a takedown stuffed.
Cordes throws a half hearted mid kick.
Morgan tries to clinch but Cordes moves away

and Cordes counters with a shoot takedown. Morgan fights it but they end up in guard.
Cordes postures up in Morgan's guard and throws a big left but Morgan blocks it.
Morgan keeping moving, preventing Cordes from controlling successfully.
Cordes's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Morgan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cordes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cordes gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Cordes shoots in for a takedown but Morgan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Morgan tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Cordes holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Cordes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Morgan closes the distance looking to clinch

and Cordes counters by moving into the clinch.
Morgan working aggressively here.

Cordes pulls guard.

Morgan gets to his feet. Cordes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Cordes connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Cordes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Cordes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Morgan is rocked!
Cordes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cordes lands a big elbow - Morgan is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Morgan is forced to tap out!
