The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tejedo swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tejedo looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Alves feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Tejedo's calf.
Jordi Tejedo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tejedo misses with an uppercut.

Alves has Tejedo up against the cage in a clinch.
Tejedo takes an elbow to the forehead.

Alves pulls guard.
Tejedo advances to half guard.
Alves keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Alves tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Alves gets full guard.

Tejedo is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Alves has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Tejedo is looking to defend but Alves has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Tejedo! Alves pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Tejedo taps out and this one is all over!
