Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyndon Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Knox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Sunbeam - One Minute in Heaven. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lyndon Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johnny Knox!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Knox shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Johnson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Knox's hands.

Johnson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Knox has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johnson is working away from the top position though.

Johnson stops Knox from getting back to his feet.
Johnson drops an elbow to the side of Knox's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Knox has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johnson is working away from the top position though.
Johnson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Johnson prevents Knox from standing back up.

Johnson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Johnson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Johnson throwing shots but Knox is blocking nicely.

Knox has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johnson is working away from the top position though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Johnson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Johnson creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Johnson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Knox wants to get back to his feet.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson.
Knox thows a body shot but no joy.

Johnson clinches.
Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Knox walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Johnson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Knox is trying to defend but Johnson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Johnson trying to control from Knox's half guard. Knox has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Knox controls Johnson momentarily but Johnson frees himself.
Johnson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Knox's head.

Knox looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Johnson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Johnson in side control, throwing shots but Knox defends.
Knox is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Knox wants to control but Johnson postures up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Johnson is chipping away with strikes.
Johnson throws an elbow but Knox slips to the side and avoids it well.

Johnson decides to stand back up. Johnson steps back and let's Knox get back to his feet.
Johnson tries to clinch up but Knox circles away and keeps his distance.
Johnson fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lyndon Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Knox has Johnson up against the cage in a clinch.
Johnson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Knox has him pressed against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Johnson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Knox's brow.
A short right from Knox on the inside.
Nice body punch from Knox - that landed with a thud.
Knox keeps control of Johnson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Knox lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Johnson or not.

Johnson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Knox wants to break free but Johnson has control.
Knox wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Johnson has him pressed against the cage.
Johnson goes for a takedown attempt but Knox pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Lyndon Johnson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Knox throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.
Johnson tries to clinch but Knox is having none of it.
Knox throws a right and a left that Johnson avoids nicely.
A punch lands to the side of Johnson 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Johnson clinches but Knox breaks the clinch
and Knox connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Knox tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Knox tries to clinch but Johnson moves out of range.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Johnson is trying to break the clinch but Knox is controlling him.

Johnson jumps guard.
Knox wanted to stand there but Johnson had control of the position.
Johnson looking for a sweep. Not yet Johnson, not yet.
Knox wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
Knox postures up.
Johnson keeping moving, preventing Knox from controlling successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Knox working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Knox would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Johnny Knox will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Knox drops Johnson with a beautiful combination! Johnson stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Knox is looking for the KO!

It looks like Lyndon Johnson has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Nice takedown defense from Knox. No joy for Johnson on that attempt.
Oh Johnson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Knox cracks Johnson with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Johnson falls to his knees and Knox doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny Knox!
