The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kopacz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smith moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kopacz looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Smith has closed the distance and engaged Kopacz in a clinch.

Kopacz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Smith is looking to clinch.
Kopacz connects with a jab.

Smith pushes Kopacz up against the cage in a clinch.
Smith tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Smith breaks the clinch.
Smith slips a jab and a cross from Kopacz.

Kopacz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smith connects with a solid leg kick.

Smith chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kopacz can pounce on him.

Kopacz swats away the attempt to clinch by Smith.

Smith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Smith is holding his hands too far apart here. Kopacz throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Smith is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
