PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tomostorm Nagasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Paulson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paulson has chosen Where Is My Mind by The Pixies as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nagasaki is defended easily by Paulson.

Paulson closes the distance and clinches.
Nagasaki tries for a takedown but Paulson manages to get underhooks.
Nagasaki has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Paulson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Nagasaki is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Paulson pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Nagasaki is trying to drag Paulson to the mat but Paulson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Paulson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Nagasaki blocks an uppercut.
Paulson misses with some punches.

Paulson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Paulson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Nagasaki is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Nagasaki drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nagasaki jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Nagasaki wants to control from the top but Paulson keeps moving.
Nagasaki stands and throws Paulson's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Nagasaki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Nagasaki is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Paulson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Nagasaki has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Paulson!
Paulson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nagasaki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nagasaki is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Paulson has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Nagasaki has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Paulson taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Nagasaki doesn't care though - he's delighted!
