The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Floyd fails in his attempt to clinch.
Floyd wants to clinch up but Monster keeps it at a distance.
Monster throws a leg kick which misses Floyd's front leg but catches the back leg as Floyd tries to avoid it.
Monster looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Floyd is fending him off so far but Monster persists. Nope, Floyd circles away and we're back to standing.
Monster shoots in looking for a takedown. Floyd tries to sprawl out of it but Monster keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Floyd manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
David Floyd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Monster circles away from the clinch attempt.

Floyd misses with a series of wild punches.
Floyd tries to clinch up but Monster circles away and keeps his distance.

Monster moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Floyd steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Monster. That one must have hurt.
Monster throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Floyd throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Floyd pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A slapping leg kick lands for Monster.
Monster darts in and clinches Floyd up against the cage.

Floyd is breathing heavily.

Floyd takes an elbow to the temple.
It looks like David Floyd has been cut.
Monster jumps into guard, dragging Floyd to the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Monster is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Monster is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Monster is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Monster throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Floyd has his hands clasped together but Monster breaks the hold and Floyd is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Monster!
