The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldo shoots for a takedown but Vitalis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Vitalis fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Aldo sprawls well initially but Vitalis persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aldo tries to kick Vitalis off but Vitalis keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Vitalis works his way into side control.

Vitalis is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Aldo has escaped the position, nice work there.

Vitalis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vitalis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Vitalis creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Aldo sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Aldo wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Vitalis has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Aldo's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Aldo is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Vitalis!
