Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Maturez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake colby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jake colby is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

colby clinches up against the cage.
colby should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Maturez tries to pull guard but colby holds him up against the cage and eventually Maturez drops back down to his feet.

Maturez thows a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maturez looking to sit in guard and control but colby gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

colby stands and steps away. Maturez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

colby clinches up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on colby's face as he tries to break the clinch.
colby is looking to break free of the clinch but Maturez has double underhooks.
colby lands a shoulder strike.
colby can't get the takedown.
colby tries for a takedown but Maturez manages to get underhooks.
colby wants a takedown.
Mike Maturez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake colby.
Maturez prevents a takedown attempt there.
colby doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Maturez throws a knee to the head but misses.
Maturez jumps guard but colby stands there with Maturez around his waist. Maturez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Maturez is looking for a takedown up against the cage. colby gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Maturez changes levels and goes for a takedown here. colby fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Maturez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says colby as he avoids it easily.

Maturez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Maturez tries to clinch but colby moves away

and colby holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Maturez fails to pull the fight into his guard.
colby is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Maturez gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

colby has Maturez pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. colby pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Maturez tumbling to the mat - colby dives into Maturez's guard.

Maturez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. colby is working away from the top position though.
colby wants to take a breather but Maturez is having none of it.
colby passes the guard and advances to mount!
colby avoids the attempt from Maturez to control.
Maturez is working to get back to half guard.
colby moves to the back position.

colby has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Maturez! Can he survive? No! He's out! colby gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
