Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randall Theodoros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Barrett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Theodoros's entrance music is When Worlds Collide. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Theodoros looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Theodoros is nestled in close to Barrett, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
It looks like Martin Barrett has been cut.
Barrett wants to get back to his feet.
Barrett kicks off Theodoros and gets to his feet.
Barrett misses with a looping right.
Barrett walks into a straight right hand from Theodoros.
Barrett misses with a series of wild punches.
Barrett shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Theodoros counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Barrett throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Theodoros.
Barrett clinches but Theodoros breaks the clinch
and Theodoros counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Theodoros crunches a lovely knee into Barrett's ribcage.
Barrett wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Theodoros has him pressed against the cage.

Barrett misses with the head strike.
Theodoros breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Theodoros throws a head kick that half lands.

Barrett wants to break the clinch but can't.
Barrett is fighting off a takedown attempt but Theodoros is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Barrett to the mat. Barrett regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Theodoros stands up from Barrett's guard - Theodoros perhaps looking for a knockout.
Barrett looks gassed!
Theodoros takes a head kick and keeps coming.

so Barrett counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Theodoros tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Theodoros working for a triangle but Barrett defends it easily.
Theodoros looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Theodoros has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barrett can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Theodoros wants to sweep but no luck.
Barrett decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Theodoros, up you get!
Theodoros looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Barrett kicks off Theodoros and gets to his feet.
Theodoros bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Theodoros is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Barrett is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Barrett tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Theodoros passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Barrett!
Barrett in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Theodoros lands a big elbow.
Barrett is rocked!
That has opened up Martin Barrett's cut even more.
Theodoros trying to control but Barrett is having none of it.
Barrett is still in real trouble! Can Theodoros finish him?
Barrett seems to have recovered his senses.

Barrett wants to get back to his feet.
Theodoros moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Barrett has worked his arm free - good work by Barrett!
Barrett regains half guard there - taking advantage of Theodoros's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Theodoros decides to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Martin Barrett's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Barrett with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Theodoros escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Theodoros fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Barrett manages to avoid it.
Theodoros throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Theodoros pushes Barrett up against the cage in a clinch.
Barrett using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Theodoros has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Barrett drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Theodoros gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Martin Barrett's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Theodoros decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Theodoros throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Barrett moves out of range of the body kick from Theodoros.

Theodoros scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Theodoros takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Barrett is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Theodoros's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Theodoros's back!

Theodoros postures up in Barrett's guard and throws a big left but Barrett blocks it.
Theodoros might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Theodoros gets to his feet - Barrett follows without any prompting.
Theodoros moves into the clinch successfully.
Barrett avoiding damage as Theodoros throws knees to the body.
Barrett wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Theodoros keeps control of Barrett as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Barrett has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Theodoros is working away from the top position though.
Theodoros has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Barrett wants to control but Theodoros is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
