Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sione Finau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddie Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes into a darkened arena with his song building. 'Sabotage' by the Beastie Boys kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Finau manages to mount him!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Finau wants the takedown. Smith is fighting it off but Finau persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Smith's guard against the cage.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Finau. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Finau is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Finau's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Smith pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Smith moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Finau darts in and clinches Smith up against the cage.

Finau is trying to trip Smith. He has hold of a leg but Smith is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Finau persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Finau lands a couple of digs.
Finau not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Finau has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth.

Finau postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Smith is looking to stand back up but Finau counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Smith.
Smith bucks up and tries to throw Finau off but instead Finau has got his back!
Smith covers up after that shot from Finau.


That has opened up Freddie Smith's cut even more.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Finau lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Finau connects with a nice cross there... Smith is looking wobbly and Finau recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Smith to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Finau jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Sione Finau!
