Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leif Kuusela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kuusela kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Hoii mie oon manne!. Peter Howard has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuusela drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Kuusela wants to stand but Howard has his arm trapped.
Howard is looking to regain half guard here but Kuusela keeps moving and retains side control.
Kuusela stands up and we're back to a striking position.
A head kick misses from Kuusela.
Kuusela throws a looping overhand right but Howard ducks down to avoid it.
Kuusela looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kuusela throws a series of punches but Howard moves out of range.
Leif Kuusela seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Howard tries to keep at a distance but Kuusela has taken the fight into the clinch.
Kuusela is trying to break free.
Kuusela wants to get back to striking at distance but Howard won't allow it.
Howard misses with a punch to the body.
Howard can't get the takedown.

A nice left hand lands by Kuusela.
Kuusela wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Howard fails to pull guard.
Kuusela wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Howard tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Leif Kuusela has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Howard.
Kuusela prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kuusela is trying to break free.
Howard tries to stall but Kuusela uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Howard tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kuusela smiles and moves away.
Howard lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Howard looks to clinch
and Kuusela counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kuusela.
Kuusela trying to stand up but can't free himself from Howard's guard.
Kuusela is breathing heavily.
Howard not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kuusela trying to control the position from guard on top but Howard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kuusela looking to sit in guard and control but Howard gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Howard trying to control but Kuusela is working from the bottom.
Howard tries to free his leg and advance position but Kuusela is retaining full guard.
Kuusela looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kuusela knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Howard on the ground.
Howard stands up and waves to Kuusela to follow him.
Kuusela wants to clinch
and Howard counters with a low kick, right behind Kuusela 's knee.
Kuusela looks for a takedown but Howard sprawls well.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Howard misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kuusela decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Howard makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Howard.
Kuusela is stalling in the full guard.
Howard kicks Kuusela off and gets to his feet.
Kuusela rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Howard moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kuusela moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Howard is rocked!
Kuusela takes the fight into the clinch.
Howard is still on wobbly legs! Can Kuusela finish him?
Kuusela manages to break the clinch.
Kuusela drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Howard's head, knocking him out cold! Kuusela is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Leif Kuusela!
