Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Max (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Fonseca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fonseca has chosen Guns n' Roses - Welcome to the Jungle as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Max decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Max wants to take a breather but Fonseca is having none of it.
Max is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Fonseca is squirming around, avoiding Max's attempts to control the action.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Fonseca sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Fonseca is looking for a sweep. Max is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Max is looking to take a break and control but Fonseca is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fonseca gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Fonseca bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

That was a close round but I would say that Scott Max will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Max shoots in looking for a takedown. Fonseca tries to sprawl out of it but Max keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Fonseca manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Scott Max will probably get the nod.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Fonseca lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Max has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Max and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Fonseca throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Max, as that shot connected.

Max throws a sloppy head kick and Fonseca moves out of range easily.

Good leg kick by Fonseca there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Max.

Max lands with a right hand.
Fonseca looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Fonseca escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Max gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Max is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Max's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Fonseca working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Max doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Max manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Scott Max.
Well Max has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
