Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Shadows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barny Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Shadows has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Shadows!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Barny Hall!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shadows fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Shadows wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Shadows tries for a takedown but Hall sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
No joy there for Shadows, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Shadows gets caught flat footed, as Hall shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hall postures up and lands a big shot to Shadows's brow.
Hall trying to stand up but can't free himself from Shadows's guard.

Shadows is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hall wants to control from the top but Shadows keeps moving.
Hall really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shadows. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Shadows will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Shadows working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hall doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hall manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hall seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Hall swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shadows really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hall bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Shadows's head.

and Hall holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Hall prevents Shadows from breaking the clinch.
Shadows has had enough of the clinch but Hall keeps him there for the moment.

and Hall counters with a two punch combo.
Hall moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Hall rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shadows moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hall throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Hall decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shadows's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shadows manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hall manages to get himself to full guard.

Shadows is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Hall wants to get back to his feet but Shadows is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Shadows passes into half guard.
Shadows wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hall keeps working.

Shadows is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hall stuffs the takedown attempt from Shadows. Shadows gets slowly back to his feet.

Hall defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Shadows.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hall is looking to improve his position but Shadows isn't that keen on the idea.

Shadows is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hall has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Shadows throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Shadows manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hall manages to get himself to full guard.
Hall is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Shadows dives into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Max Shadows will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Shadows shoots in but no luck this time.

Shadows closes the distance and clinches up with Hall, looking for a takedown. Shadows pushes Hall against the cage but Hall circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Shadows slips a jab and a cross from Hall.
Shadows tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hall swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Shadows. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hall drives through and clinches with Shadows against the cage.

Hall breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Shadows shoots in looking for a takedown. Hall tries to sprawl out of it but Shadows keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hall manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hall shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hall was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Hall can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shadows is looking to escape.

Hall wants to control the pace but Shadows is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hall wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Shadows uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Hall takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Shadows throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Shadows looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Shadows is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Shadows has his foot on Hall's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hall works his way back into a safe position though.

Hall is looking to stand up but Shadows won't let him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hall looks to score with a jab to the body but Shadows is just out of range.
Horrible takedown by Shadows or perhaps it was just good defense by Hall which made him look bad.
Hall moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Shadows misses with a double jab
and Hall counters with a nice body kick.
Nice straight punches there by Shadows. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Shadows.


It looks like Barny Hall has been cut.
Shadows shoots in for a double leg but Hall sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hall moves out of range of the strikes.
Horrible takedown by Shadows or perhaps it was just good defense by Hall which made him look bad.
Shadows changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hall tries to avoid it but Shadows manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hall to the ground. Hall escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hall scores a takedown into full mount!
Shadows slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Hall prevents Shadows from improving his position.
Hall tries to stand and escape but Shadows actually recovers to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Barny Hall.
I think Hall has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
