The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McMurder tries to keep at a distance but Santi Pierre has taken the fight into the clinch.
McMurder jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Santi Pierre walks away with a smile on his face. McMurder gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

McMurder had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Santi Pierre is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. McMurder Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Santi Pierre's back instead.

McMurder wants to finish this one by submission but Santi Pierre is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from McMurder.

McMurder swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Santi Pierre is now in McMurder's guard. A big mistake from McMurder there, giving up the dominant position!

McMurder manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Santi Pierre manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Santi Pierre is staying active underneath McMurder, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

That was a close round but I would say that Giorgio Santi Pierre will probably get the nod.
