Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Strife (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johan Herberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Strife has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Strife!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johan Herberg!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strife tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Herberg paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Herberg uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Strife.
Strife scores with a three punch combo!
Strife moves away from the strike by Herberg.
Strife throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Strife dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Herberg. That did some damage!
Herberg avoids a punch combination nicely.
Herberg changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Strife tries to avoid it but Herberg manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Strife to the ground. Strife escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Strife cracks Herberg with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Strife has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Herberg to stand back up!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Strife wants to control from the top but Herberg keeps moving.
Strife stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Herberg swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Herberg throws a lazy right hand but Strife sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Strife lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Herberg closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Strife did well to prevent Herberg getting side control.
Herberg thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Strife's head.

Strife wants to lay and pray for a moment but Herberg keeps working.
Strife frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Strife is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Herberg defends well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Herberg shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Strife's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that John Strife will probably get the nod.
That's time! Strife's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Herberg might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
