Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Seppo Susikasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Jee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jee has chosen Get The Funk Out Of My Face as his entrance music. Karl Jee is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Seppo Susikasi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Karl Jee!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Susikasi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jee manages to avoid it.
A combination from Jee does no damage.
Susikasi throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jee counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Susikasi is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A big left from Susikasi misses.

Jee gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Susikasi stops Jee from standing up.
Susikasi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Susikasi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jee works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jee keeping full guard, as Susikasi tries to pass.
Jee is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Susikasi wants to control from the top but Jee keeps moving.
Susikasi pushes down on Jee's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Jee won't allow Susikasi to pass to mount.
Susikasi wants to take a breather but Jee is having none of it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Susikasi throws a sloppy body shot
and Jee counters with a left and a right that stings Susikasi.
Susikasi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jee manages to avoid it.
Jee tries to clinch but Susikasi is having none of it.
Jee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Susikasi fails to land with a series of punches.

Jee gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Susikasi throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Susikasi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Susikasi wants to pass the guard but Jee is defending well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Susikasi is looking for a kimura but Jee is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Susikasi to get the leverage.
Susikasi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jee does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Susikasi thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Susikasi is looking to advance position but Jee won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Susikasi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Susikasi shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Seppo Susikasi will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jee misses with a two punch combination.
Susikasi uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Susikasi shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jee napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Jee throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Susikasi throws a nice looking combination but Jee bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Susikasi tries to clinch up but Jee circles away and keeps his distance.
A shot to the body from Susikasi misses
and Jee counters with a one-two to the body.
Jee misses with a jab, cross combination.
Susikasi looks to land a right hand but Jee moved out of range.
Susikasi thows a body shot but no joy.
Jee uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Susikasi.
Jee slaps away a takedown attempt from Susikasi, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jee, as that shot connected.
Jee swats away the attempt to clinch by Susikasi.
Susikasi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jee swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Seppo Susikasi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Susikasi looks to land a combination but Jee avoids it well.
A jab from Susikasi misses.
Jee changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Susikasi tries to avoid it but Jee manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Susikasi to the ground. Susikasi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Susikasi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Susikasi thows a left - swing and a miss!
Susikasi wants to clinch up but Jee keeps it at a distance.
Susikasi is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Jee's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Susikasi ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Susikasi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Susikasi somewhat.

Susikasi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Jee is squirming around, avoiding Susikasi's attempts to control the action.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jee can do anything to dispel that myth.
Poor strikes thrown by Susikasi there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Susikasi cracks Jee with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jee is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Susikasi jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Jee is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Jee and Susikasi has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Susikasi cracks Jee with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Susikasi is looking to take a break and control but Jee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Susikasi misses with the ground and pound.
Susikasi trying to control the position but Jee is working away.
Susikasi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jee is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Susikasi trying to control the action but Jee is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No joy there for Susikasi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Susikasi throws a combination that misses
and Jee counters with a series of strikes. Susikasi will be more careful next time no doubt.
Susikasi moves in looking to clinch but Jee pushes him off.
Susikasi misses the shot to the body.
Jee uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Susikasi.
Susikasi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jee circles away quickly and effectively.

Jee needs to keep his hands up - Susikasi had a free shot at his head there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Karl Jee will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Susikasi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Jee gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Susikasi to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Susikasi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Susikasi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Susikasi connects with a couple of short punches.
Susikasi looking to sit in guard and control but Jee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Susikasi controls Jee momentarily but Jee frees himself.

Jee wants to stand but Susikasi has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Susikasi looking for a guillotine here but Jee defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jee controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Susikasi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jee defends well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jee stands up from Susikasi's guard - Jee perhaps looking for a knockout.
A combination from Susikasi does no damage.
Susikasi lands a with a good body shot.
Jee circles away from the clinch attempt.
Susikasi lands a nice hook to Jee's body. Jee takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Susikasi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jee circles away.
Jee takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Susikasi comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Susikasi moves into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jee wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Susikasi has him pressed against the cage.
Susikasi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jee walks away with a smile on his face. Susikasi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Susikasi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jee pinned against the cage. Jee gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seppo Susikasi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jee scores with a head kick.

Susikasi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Susikasi has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Susikasi lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Susikasi thowing shots but they're missing.
Susikasi controlling the pace for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Susikasi looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Jee is squirming around, avoiding Susikasi's attempts to control the action.
Jee wants to hold on but Susikasi pushes him away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Seppo Susikasi showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Susikasi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
