Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Dew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Leer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leer has chosen "Big" Entrance Music as his entrance music. Mike Leer has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Sammy Dew's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dew throws a series of punches but Leer avoids them all with ease.
A combination from Leer does no damage.
Leer lands with a nice body kick.
Dew is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Leer feints and as Dew raises his hands in defense, Leer changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dew on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dew tries to get out of the position.
Leer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Leer stands up from Dew's guard - Leer perhaps looking for a knockout.
Leer knocks Dew to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?
Dew is rocked!
It looks like Sammy Dew has been cut.
Leer decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dew to his feet.
Leer takes the fight into the clinch.
Leer lands a left hand that snaps the head of Dew backwards.
Leer working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Dew is fighting off a takedown attempt but Leer is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Dew to the mat. Dew regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Leer gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Leer lands a really nice looking cross but Dew seems unphased.
Mike Leer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Leer throws a nice looking combination but Dew bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Leer misses with a few strikes there.

Leer throws a right hand that Dew ducks under and follows up with a left that Dew also avoids with ease.
Dew drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Leer drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Leer working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leer advances to mount.
Leer has hold of Dew's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dew manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Leer prevents Dew from getting the reversal.
Leer gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Leer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Leer lands in his opponent's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dew isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Leer stacks Dew on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Leer!
Leer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Dew gets back to half guard.
Leer postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Dew to stand up.
Leer clinches up with Dew and pushes him back against the cage.
Leer is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Leer has picked Dew up - he's going for a ride! Leer dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Leer trying to control the action but Dew is working from the bottom.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Leer gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Leer moves into range and clinches up with Dew.
Dew drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Leer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Leer misses with a double jab.
Leer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dew pinned against the cage. Dew gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Leer bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Dew is pushing Leer's head away, looking to escape. Leer manages to hold on to the position though.
Leer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Leer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dew wants to control but Leer postures up.
Leer moves into full mount!
Dew is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Dew is trying to escape the mount.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Leer won't let Dew get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Leer dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Sammy Dew's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Leer takes the fight into the clinch.
Leer is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Dew tries to break the clinch but Leer is controlling the position.
Dew can't break the clinch.
Dew misses with a short punch on the inside.
Leer breaks from the clinch.
Dew wants to clinch but Leer slips to the side
and Leer counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dew's guard now.
Oh Dew is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Leer drops back looking for a leg! Dew is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dew manages to kick Leer off! Leer jumps back into Dew's guard.
Dew seems to have got his legs back now.
Dew trying to control the position.
Leer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dew keeping full guard, as Leer tries to pass.

Leer postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Dew wants to stand and escape but Leer is having none of it.
Leer stands and steps away. Dew gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Dew swats away the attempt to clinch by Leer.
Leer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dew.
Dew dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Dew takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Leer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dew looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Leer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Leer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dew is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Leer is controlling him well.
Dew is looking to get back to his feet here but Leer is keeping cool and he's managed to take Dew's back.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Leer has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Leer has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Dew has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Dew fending off the submission attempt from Leer.
Leer is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Dew has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Leer is looking for the choke from the back position but Dew is controlling his hands well.
Leer looking for the RNC.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Dew's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Leer has got one arm under Dew's chin. This could be trouble... Dew trying to control the other hand but Leer gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Dew has tapped out! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mike Leer!
