Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jokke Hansseen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Ytlear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ytlear has chosen Necrophobic - The Third Antichrist as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jokke Hansseen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James Ytlear!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Konstantin Menshow and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ytlear fails with the takedown.

Hansseen drives through and clinches with Ytlear against the cage.

Hansseen tightens his grip and picks Ytlear up, before dumping him to the ground. Ytlear manages to land in guard.
Ytlear looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hansseen is one step ahead there.
Ytlear trying to control the position.
Ytlear can't keep his opponent in guard - Hansseen advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Hansseen prevents Ytlear from improving his position.
Hansseen trying to advance position but Ytlear counters by regaining guard.

Hansseen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Ytlear is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hansseen preventing the sweep.
Ytlear is trying to control the position but Hansseen postures up.
Ytlear has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Hansseen has passed into side control.
Hansseen working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Hansseen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ytlear was covering up waiting for the punch and Hansseen finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Ytlear looking for a sweep. Not yet Ytlear, not yet.

Hansseen is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Ytlear working for a triangle but Hansseen defends it easily.
Ytlear is trying to control the position but Hansseen postures up.
Hansseen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Ytlear working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hansseen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hansseen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hansseen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Hansseen tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Ytlear.
Ytlear is looking for a sweep. Hansseen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hansseen performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Hansseen uses his free foot to push down on Ytlear's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ytlear.
Ytlear is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hansseen controlling from mount.
Ytlear tries to hold on but Hansseen postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hansseen looking to control but Ytlear is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Hansseen gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Hansseen drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ytlear controls Hansseen momentarily but Hansseen frees himself.
Hansseen wants to control from the top but Ytlear keeps moving.

Hansseen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hansseen stands and throws Ytlear's legs to the side, diving into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Hansseen moves into the clinch.
Ytlear jumps guard but Hansseen stands there with Ytlear around his waist. Ytlear gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hansseen slows down the pace here.
Ytlear tries to score a body lock takedown but Hansseen shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Ytlear is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hansseen pulls his head out easily.
Hansseen tries to stand and escape but Ytlear is controlling the position.

Hansseen decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Ytlear is breathing heavily.

Hansseen looks to land a combination but Ytlear avoids it well.

Hansseen shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ytlear manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Ytlear has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hansseen is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ytlear.

Ytlear seems a little lost for a moment, as Hansseen dominates the positioning.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hansseen is keen to just control but Ytlear is a slippery customer.
Hansseen passes to full mount!

Hansseen is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Hansseen scores with a decent looking hook.

Ytlear gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hansseen to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Hansseen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ytlear swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hansseen has Ytlear pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hansseen pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ytlear tumbling to the mat - Hansseen dives into Ytlear's guard.

Ytlear takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hansseen trying to mount his opponent but Ytlear defends it.
Hansseen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ytlear's head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hansseen tries to clinch there but Ytlear circles away.

Hansseen has closed the distance and engaged Ytlear in a clinch.
Ytlear is working for takedown but Hansseen is calmly controlling the position for now.

Hansseen has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ytlear regains guard immediately.

Ytlear throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hansseen escapes and throws Ytlear's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Hansseen has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Hansseen gets a takedown into half guard.
Hansseen is trying to control. Ytlear wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Hansseen wants to stand up but Ytlear has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Hansseen is just content to waste time from the top position. Ytlear takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Hansseen stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Ytlear swats away the attempt to clinch by Hansseen.

Hansseen rushes Ytlear and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Ytlear wants a takedown but no success here.
Ytlear misses with some punches.

Hansseen gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Hansseen postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Hansseen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Ytlear takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Hansseen takes the fight into the clinch.
Hansseen lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Ytlear or not.

Hansseen gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jokke Hansseen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hansseen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ytlear keeps working.
Ytlear is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hansseen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ytlear can do to turn this around?
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ytlear wants to sweep but Hansseen has passed to side control!

Well Hansseen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
