Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steven Saint Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitus Peering (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Peering's choice of entrance music: Saint Vitus Dance. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steven Saint Pierre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vitus Peering!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Peering drives through and clinches with Saint Pierre against the cage.
Peering presses Saint Pierre against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Peering has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Saint Pierre is trying to keep an underhook but Peering manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Saint Pierre wants to get back to his feet.

Peering is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Saint Pierre has managed to free his arm - good work.
Saint Pierre is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Peering scores with a couple of nice shots.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Peering connects with a nice short shot to Saint Pierre's temple.

Peering takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Peering is going olschool here, as he tries to force Saint Pierre to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Saint Pierre shrugs it off.

Peering shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Peering feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Peering is pushing down on Saint Pierre's leg trying to pass to half guard. Saint Pierre is fighting to maintain full guard but Peering has managed to sneak the leg through.
Peering is keen to just control but Saint Pierre is a slippery customer.

Well Peering has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
