The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Maia.
Silva misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Maia.
Silva throws a jab but it's blocked by Maia.
Silva avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Silva misses with a two punch combination.
Silva scores with a jab. Maia acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Maia is looking to clinch but Silva is avoiding it.
The crowd cheers as Silva lands an impressive looking overhand right. Maia doesn't seem phased though.
Silva scores with a shot to the body.

Maia takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Maia doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Silva throws a right and a left that both miss.
Maia tries for a takedown but Silva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Maia tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range.
Good standup being displayed there by Silva as he connects with a hook.
Maia shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silva but Silva pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Silva connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Maia momentarily.
A right-left combo lands from Silva.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maia takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Maia doesn't manage to clinch there - Silva circles away.

Maia closes the distance and clinches.
Silva works on Maia's body with a couple of short punches.
Maia looks gassed!
Silva lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Silva breaks the clinch.
Silva slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Maia shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense.
Silvas Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Demente Maia.

Maia walks into a straight right hand from Silva.

Silva shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Maia takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Silva sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Maia bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!
