Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nicolas Kapers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Dayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dayne has chosen South of Heaven as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nicolas Kapers!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arthur Dayne!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kapers closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kapers lands in his opponent's guard.
Kapers postures up.
Dayne wants to stand but Kapers is controlling the position.

Kapers drops back looking for a leg! Dayne is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dayne manages to kick Kapers off! Kapers jumps back into Dayne's guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Kapers drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dayne manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kapers has Dayne in his guard.

Kapers looking for a guillotine here but Dayne defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dayne wants to control from the top but Kapers keeps moving.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Kapers has momentary wrist control but Dayne slips an elbow through the middle.
Dayne tries to stand but Kapers is controlling from the bottom.
Kapers is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dayne is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Kapers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dayne doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dayne manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kapers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dayne can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kapers is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dayne trying to control the position from guard on top but Kapers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kapers has a closed guard, preventing Dayne from standing up.

Kapers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dayne doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dayne manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dayne is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dayne lands a nice short elbow.
Dayne lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kapers wants to control but Dayne is keeping busy.
Dayne takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Dayne trying to control the action but Kapers is working from the bottom.
Kapers is looking to control Dayne's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kapers avoid being mounted?
Kapers has hold of Dayne's hands but Dayne slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Dayne with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Kapers is refusing to be controlled, as Dayne sits in half guard.
Kapers is trying to control but can't.
Kapers tries to get to full guard but Dayne has control of the leg.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dayne misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dayne connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Dayne moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Kapers goes down! Can Dayne finish him!?


Kapers is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dayne wants to stand but Kapers has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Oh Kapers is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kapers is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dayne scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Dayne showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Kapers seems to have got his legs back now.
Kapers has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Dayne has passed into side control.
Dayne working the body and head with strikes.
Dayne landing strikes.
Dayne trying to control the action but Kapers is working from the bottom.

Dayne tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Kapers is not content to let Dayne control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arthur Dayne dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dayne lands the left hand.
Kapers walks into a straight right hand from Dayne.
Nicolas Kapers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dayne fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Kapers to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Kapers looks to clinch but Dayne throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Kapers taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Arthur Dayne!
Arthur Dayne is the new heavyweight champion!
