The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zilva shoots in for a takedown but Billons shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Zilva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Billons is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Zilva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Billons's back instead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Zilva is nestled in close to Billons, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Billons, as that shot connected.

Billons closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Billons lands in his opponent's guard.

Zilva is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Billons defends well.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Billons throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Zilva throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Zilva tries to land a front kick but Billons steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Billons throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Zilva.
Zilva shoots and misses
and Billons counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Billons lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Zilva circles away quickly and effectively.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Billons blocks a head kick by Zilva.
Billons tries to bum rush Zilva with a series of wild strikes but Zilva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Zilva on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Zilva gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Billons.

and Billons decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Zilva's guard.

Zilva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Billons doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Billons manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Zilva throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Billons escapes and throws Zilva's legs to the side, diving into side control!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Billons can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well Billons has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
