Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ravi Raja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Schulte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brian Schulte told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raja shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Schulte as he avoids it easily.
Raja misses with a two punch combination.
Schulte dips to his left and cracks Raja with an uppercut!
Horrible takedown by Raja or perhaps it was just good defense by Schulte which made him look bad.
Schulte scores with a jab to the head.

It looks like Ravi Raja has been cut.
Schulte stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Schulte wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ravi Raja. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Raja takes one to the side of the head.
Raja shoots for a takedown but Schulte saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Raja is defended easily by Schulte.
Raja is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Schulte dodges the punch combination from Raja.
Raja takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Schulte connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Schulte gets the takedown into side control.
Raja parries the strikes from Schulte easily there. Schulte is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Raja to escape.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The strikes coming from Schulte are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Schulte creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Raja sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schulte lands an elbow.
Schulte has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Schulte wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Raja, who protects the arm well.
Raja avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Schulte.
Raja takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Schulte looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Raja is avoiding damage well.
Schulte scores with punches from side control.

Schulte tries to score with some ground and pound. Raja controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Schulte throws an elbow but Raja slips to the side and avoids it well.
An elbow from Schulte crashes against the mat.
Raja tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Raja is working to avoid the ground and pound but Schulte connects with a decent elbow.

Schulte is working to tighten is grip on Raja's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Raja has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Schulte is really squeezing tight and eventually Raja passes out! Schulte breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
