Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tito Ortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nino Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nino Brown has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tito Ortez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nino Brown!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Ortez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ortez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
BOOM! Ortez connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Ortez connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Ortez avoids the attempt from Brown to control.
Brown is trying desperately to improve position.
Ortez throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Ortez punishing his opponent with strikes.
Ortez unloads with some shots from mount but Brown bucks and avoids them well.
Ortez lands a heavy elbow.
Ortez scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Brown?
Brown is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Brown tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Ortez lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Brown hang on?
Poor strikes thrown by Ortez there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Brown keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Brown wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Ortez.
Ortez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Ortez cracks Brown with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ortez avoids the attempt from Brown to control.
Ortez thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Brown tries to hold on but Ortez pushes him away.
Ortez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ortez is breathing heavily.
Brown sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Brown wants to improve his position but Ortez is controlling well.
Brown really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ortez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ortez lands with a punch from half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ortez stops Brown from getting back to his feet.

Ortez decides to return to a standing position.
Brown smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.


It looks like Tito Ortez has been cut.
Brown moves away from the strike by Ortez.
Ortez tries for a takedown but Brown sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Brown misses with an uppercut. Ortez saw that one coming.
Brown swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Brown throws a hook to the side of Ortez's head but Ortez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Brown misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ortez.

Brown drops Ortez with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ortez looks back up at him and smiles so Brown waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Ortez is rocked!
Ortez defending well as Brown loads up on a big left hand.
Brown moves in close and cracks Ortez with a massive right hand! Ortez, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Brown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nino Brown!
