Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hector Cabrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Henry Holliday (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hector Cabrera!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Henry Holliday!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cabrera closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Holliday to the mat! Holliday manages to get full guard.

Holliday is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Cabrera wants to stand but Holliday is controlling his posture from full guard.
Cabrera might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Cabrera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Holliday swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cabrera throwing strikes from guard but Holliday blocks nicely.
Holliday is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Holliday working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cabrera doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cabrera manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cabrera stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Holliday takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Holliday checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Holliday thows a body shot but no joy.

and Cabrera counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Holliday's guard now.

Holliday escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cabrera gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Holliday wants to stand but Cabrera is controlling the position.
Holliday looks gassed!
Cabrera is looking to work some ground and pound but Holliday has wrist control.

Holliday has an active guard here but Cabrera has managed to pass into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cabrera lands a nice short elbow.
Holliday is looking to get back to full guard here but Cabrera has managed to pass to side control instead.
Cabrera with shots to the head and body - Holliday looks very uncomfortable down there.
Holliday is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cabrera cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Holliday is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cabrera sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Holliday is looking to improve his position but Cabrera isn't that keen on the idea.

Cabrera has control of Holliday's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Holliday regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Cabrera is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cabrera lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Cabrera putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Holliday is wriggling around trying to escape.
Cabrera won't let Holliday get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Holliday is working to get back to half guard.
Holliday wants to control but Cabrera is having none of it.
Cabrera content just to control the position here.
Cabrera pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Holliday is in a horrible position here. Cabrera smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Holliday is still in real trouble! Can Cabrera finish him?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cabrera trying to control but Holliday is having none of it.
Cabrera working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Cabrera cracks Holliday with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hector Cabrera!
Hector Cabrera retains his featherweight title!
