Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corey Cormier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ukko Reinikainen!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Reinikainen. No joy for Cormier on that attempt.
Cormier is looking to clinch but Reinikainen is avoiding it.
Reinikainen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Reinikainen lands with a kick to the temple. Cormier shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Cormier looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Reinikainen fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Cormier misses with a combination

and Reinikainen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Cormier is looking to improve his position.
Reinikainen stalling.
Reinikainen tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cormier knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reinikainen lands with a punch from half guard.
Cormier knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reinikainen on the ground.
Cormier is trying to escape back to his feet but Reinikainen uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Reinikainen tries to move into full mount but can't pass Cormier's legs.

Reinikainen stands up and beckons Cormier to his feet.
Cormier misses with a jab, cross combination.
Cormier lands a left and a right that sends Reinikainen crashing to the canvas! Cormier dives into mount looking to finish!


Reinikainen is rocked!
Reinikainen slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Reinikainen is still in real trouble! Can Cormier finish him?
Cormier wants to control but Reinikainen is keeping him busy.
Reinikainen wants to control but Cormier is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Cormier is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Cormier tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Reinikainen.
Cormier is breathing heavily.
Cormier is keen to just control but Reinikainen is a slippery customer.
Reinikainen seems to have recovered his senses.
Reinikainen wants to control but Cormier is keeping busy.
Cormier blocks the strikes from Reinikainen.
Cormier wants to stand up but Reinikainen has a hold of him and won't allow it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Reinikainen forces Cormier back against the cage and clinches.

Reinikainen manages to break the clinch.

Reinikainen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Reinikainen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Reinikainen gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Reinikainen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cormier circles away.
Reinikainen shoots in and drives through. Cormier sprawls well.
Corey Cormier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ukko Reinikainen.
Cormier throws a nice looking combination but Reinikainen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Cormier rushes Reinikainen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Cormier has had enough of the clinch but Reinikainen keeps him there for the moment.

Reinikainen breaks the clinch.
Reinikainen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Reinikainen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cormier but Cormier pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Reinikainen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cormier circles away.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Reinikainen.

Reinikainen looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Cormier is looking for a sweep.
Reinikainen tries to advance to mount but Cormier denies him.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Reinikainen is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cormier has escaped the position, nice work there.
Reinikainen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cormier keeps working.
Reinikainen working the head with strikes.
Cormier is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Reinikainen is controlling him well.
Cormier is looking to regain half guard here but Reinikainen keeps moving and retains side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Reinikainen prevents Cormier from escaping the position.
Reinikainen trying to control the position but Cormier is working away.
The strikes coming from Reinikainen are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ukko Reinikainen dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Reinikainen tries to clinch but Cormier moves out of range.
Cormier throws a series of strikes that have Reinikainen backpedaling.
Cormier throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Reinikainen stumbling backwards into the cage! Reinikainen bounces back off the cage towards Cormier, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Cormier lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Cormier celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Corey Cormier!
