PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Moses Kealekupuna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Niko Wildfire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wildfire has chosen Master of Puppets as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Wildfire has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Niko Wildfire has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wildfire tried to score with a low kick but Kealekupuna checks it.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Moses Kealekupuna just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

and Kealekupuna counters with a nice body shot.

Niko Wildfire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kealekupuna feints and then cracks Wildfire's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wildfire down.

Wildfire sneaks out the side door and pushes Kealekupuna away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Kealekupuna counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Wildfire's guard now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kealekupuna tries to free his leg and advance position but Wildfire is retaining full guard.

Wildfire is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Kealekupuna is looking to break free of the clinch but Wildfire has double underhooks.
Kealekupuna will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Wildfire up against the cage.

Wildfire explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kealekupuna.

Well Kealekupuna has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
