Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Alard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neopa Yuanstoliva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alard fails with an attempt to clinch.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Yuanstoliva clinches but Alard breaks the clinch
and Alard counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Yuanstoliva's guard now.
Yuanstoliva wants to sweep but no luck.
Alard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yuanstoliva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Alard trying to control but Yuanstoliva is working from the bottom.
Yuanstoliva tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Yuanstoliva controls Alard momentarily but Alard frees himself.
Alard drops back looking for a leg! Yuanstoliva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yuanstoliva manages to kick Alard off! Alard jumps back into Yuanstoliva's guard.
Alard makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alard connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Yuanstoliva some visible discomfort.

Alard wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Yuanstoliva, who protects the arm well.

Alard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

and Alard counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Alard working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Well, if Alard is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Alard has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Alard looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Alard is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Yuanstoliva to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Aaron Alard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Alard wants to control from the top but Yuanstoliva keeps moving.
Alard advances position into side control!
Alard remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Alard tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Alard has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Alard lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Yuanstoliva down.
Yuanstoliva is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Alard is controlling him well.
Yuanstoliva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Yuanstoliva is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Alard lets go of the hold and Yuanstoliva can pop his arm back in it's socket.
