The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Rtuwi!

Bates fails to move to back control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bates seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rtuwi for as long as he can get away with.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Micheal Bates just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Rtuwi misses with a body shot.
Bates takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Rtuwi is looking to clinch.

Bates scores a takedown into full mount!
Rtuwi is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Rtuwi tries to hold on but Bates postures up.
Rtuwi has left one of his arms exposed and Bates doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Rtuwi screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
