Merkel comes to the cage accompanied by Juke Joint Jezebel. Down is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by 311 Down. Kevin Down is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Down throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Merkel lands a glancing blow to the side of Down's head.
Merkel slips under a jab from Down.
Down misses with a series of wild punches.
Down fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Merkel jabs Down right on the nose. Down blinks but takes it well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Down throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Merkel sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Merkel scores with a jab.
Down throws a shot from downtown. Merkel moves away and avoids it.
Down shoots in for a takedown but Merkel shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Merkel thuds a left hand into Down's body.
Down looks gassed!

Merkel lands a left and a right that send Down crashing to the mat, dazed. Merkel thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Kevin Down has been cut.

Merkel sends Down crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Merkel is motioning to the referee to let Down up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Down is holding his hands too far apart here. Merkel throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Down is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
