Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Secunda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Demarcco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Secunda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Christopher Demarcco!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Secunda tries to score a power double leg takedown but Demarcco sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Secunda somewhat.
Secunda swats away the attempt to clinch by Demarcco.
Demarcco tries to clinch there but Secunda circles away.
Demarcco is looking to clinch but Secunda is avoiding it.
Demarcco moves out of range of the body kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Secunda shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Demarcco as he jumps to the side.

Secunda turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Secunda manages to end up in side control.
Demarcco is not content to let Secunda control the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Demarcco can do anything to dispel that myth.

Secunda pushes off an throws an elbow but Demarcco leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Demarcco takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Demarcco obliges.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Secunda wants the takedown. Demarcco is fighting it off but Secunda persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Demarcco's guard against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Secunda goes for an armbar but Demarcco turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Demarcco.

Secunda is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
