Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dough Brinks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beanie Braids (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beanie Braids told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dough Brinks!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Beanie Braids!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Braids avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Braids shoots for a takedown but Brinks saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Braids shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Brinks napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Brinks is looking for a sweep.
Brinks is breathing heavily.
Braids moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Brinks managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Braids.

Braids in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Braids tries for a kimura but Brinks is defending well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Brinks is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Braids has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Brinks is not content to let Braids control the position.
Brinks seems a little lost for a moment, as Braids dominates the positioning.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Braids gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Braids stalling in the clinch but Brinks improves position.
The is referee keeping an eye on Braids - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Brinks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Braids drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Brinks tries to stall but Braids uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Braids throws a right and a left that Brinks avoids nicely.
Braids tries to close the distance and clinch but Brinks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dough Brinks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Braids has a takedown stuffed.

Brinks throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Braids counter with a right hand.

Braids drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Braids stands and steps away. Brinks gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Braids bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Braids lands an elbow.

Braids is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Brinks has escaped the position, nice work there.
Brinks gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Braids with the ground and pound from mount.
Brinks really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Braids landing strikes, looking to finish!
Braids dominating with strikes here.
You get the feeling that Brinks really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Beanie Braids showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Brinks takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Braids throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brinks's waist but Brinks gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Braids off to one side.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brinks slips a jab and a cross from Braids.

Brinks tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Braids counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Braids shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Braids decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Braids darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Dough Brinks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Beanie Braids is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Beanie Braids has got the better of the ground game so far.

Well, if Braids is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Well Braids has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
