Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Moe Barra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akihiro Ono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ono has chosen TNT as his entrance music. Akihiro Ono is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akihiro Ono!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barra fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Barra shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Barra swinging wilding here.
Ono scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Good leg kick by Ono there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Ono tries to bum rush Barra with a series of wild strikes but Barra uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ono throws a sloppy head kick and Barra moves out of range easily.
Ono tries to clinch up but Barra circles away and keeps his distance.
Ono tries to close the distance and clinch up but Barra swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ono misses with a combination
and Barra counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ono!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ono defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Barra.
Ono is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Barra swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ono is now in Barra's guard. A big mistake from Barra there, giving up the dominant position!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ono has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Barra is proving hard to escape from.
Ono is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Ono wants to get up but he can't break Barra's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Barra thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Barra seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Barra gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Ono looks to land a combination. Barra sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Nice takedown defense from Barra. No joy for Ono on that attempt.
Barra throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ono tries to close the distance and clinch up but Barra swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Barra changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ono tries to avoid it but Barra manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ono to the ground. Ono escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Moe Barra is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Barra chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ono can pounce on him.
Ono looks to clinch
and Barra counters with a shoot takedown. Ono fights it but they end up in guard.
Barra trying to control the position from guard on top but Ono is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Barra controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Ono tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Barra wants to control from the top but Ono keeps moving.
Barra stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Ono moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Ono shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Barra manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Moe Barra dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Barra shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ono as he jumps to the side.
Barra shoots for a takedown but Ono saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ono lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

and Ono counters with a slapping leg kick.

Akihiro Ono seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Barra shoots for a double leg takedown but Ono sprawls well. He's pushed Barra's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Some bone on bone action there as Ono checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Ono goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Barra looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Barra pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ono is keeping the position for now.
Barra wants to control from the top but Ono keeps moving.

Barra stops Ono from standing up.
Barra is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Barra sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ono's guard.

Ono is trying to stand up here but Barra is controlling him well.

Akihiro Ono has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Moe Barra overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Barra working over Ono with some ground and pound. Ono looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
