Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Money Villar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lenny James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Money Villar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Lenny James!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Villar closes the distance and pushes James back into the cage.
A bit of stalling here from Villar.
James jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Villar walks away with a smile on his face. James gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
James throws a sloppy head kick and Villar moves out of range easily.
James throws a head kick that misses.
Villar moves in looking to clinch but James pushes him off.
James avoids a kick to the body.
James throws a sloppy head kick and Villar moves out of range easily.

letting James counter with a right hand.

James tries to close the distance and clinch up but Villar swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Villar fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
James throws a sloppy head kick and Villar moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Villar's head.
James throws a wild body kick that Villar sees coming a mile off.
James misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
James tries to clinch up
and Villar counters with a left and a right that stings James.
James looks gassed!

Villar dives in and grabs James's left leg, looking for a takedown. James pushes down on Villar's head and hops out.
Villar takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Villar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has James pinned against the cage. James gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Money Villar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Villar closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming James to the mat! James manages to get full guard.
Villar wants to control from the top but James keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Villar tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard.
Villar content to stall in guard here.
James is looking to sweep but instead, Villar has passed into half guard.

Villar prevents James from standing back up.
Villar is looking to advance position but James won't allow it.

Villar stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows James to get to his feet.

Villar shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as James sprawls well. James wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Villar gets slowly back to his feet.
Villar lands a nice hook to James's body. James takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Villar clinches up against the cage.
James tries to score a body lock takedown but Villar shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Villar lands an elbow inside that James shrugs off.

Villar pulls guard.
James tries to stand but Villar is controlling from the bottom.

Villar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. James doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. James manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Villar looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Villar is adopting a defensive guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Villar is trying to drag James to the mat but James just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Villar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
James throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Villar counters with a takedown into side control.

Villar decides to stand up, so the ref orders James to his feet.
Lenny James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Villar.

James lands with a slapping head kick.

and Villar holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Villar has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. James is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Villar has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics James uses from the top position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Villar lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
James is trying to reverse the position but instead Villar has taken his back - oops!
James is keeping busy.
James controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
James is trapped and Villar is scoring with shots to the head and body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Money Villar dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Villar tries to score a power double leg takedown but James sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Villar somewhat.
James lands a nice leg kick that just misses Villar's sensitive parts.
James scores with a nice body kick.
James wants to clinch but Villar slips to the side
and Villar counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Villar shoots for a double leg takedown but James sprawls well. He's pushed Villar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Villar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has James pinned against the cage. James gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Villar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but James moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
James throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Villar.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Nice takedown defense from James. No joy for Villar on that attempt.
Lenny James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Villar wants to control the pace but James is squirming around nicely.

James takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Money Villar showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Villar has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
