Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Griffin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian King!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Kavanagh and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin avoids a punch combination nicely.

Griffin misses with a double jab
and King counters with a stiff right hand.
Griffin slips a jab from King.
Griffin shoots in and drives through. King sprawls well.
A punch combination from King misses.
Griffin misses with a straight right.
Griffin moves out of range of the body kick.
King lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Griffin at a distance.
Some wild striking there from Griffin.
King ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Griffin moves away.
King moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Peter Griffin has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Griffin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Griffin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Griffin cracks King with a big right hand but King just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Griffin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Griffin wants to lay and pray for a moment but King keeps working.
King is trying to buck Griffin off.
Griffin throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Griffin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by King, who protects the arm well.
Griffin throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and King works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Griffin is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Griffin thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Griffin throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
King is bucking up trying to escape but Griffin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Griffin trying to control but he's not successful this time.
King wants to hold on but Griffin pushes him away.
Griffin throws some wild stikes that King manages to avoid easily.

Griffin goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now King is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
King wanted to stand there but Griffin had control of the position.
Griffin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
King must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Griffin is working hard here to advance position.
Griffin trying to keep a closed guard but King is proving a slippery customer.
King trying to control the position from guard on top but Griffin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Griffin controlling King's posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brian King dominated that round.

That's time! Back to the action!


King throws a one two combo.
Griffin jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
King ducks under a wild hook from Griffin.
Griffin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but King swivels and escapes.
Griffin cracks King with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Griffin on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
King dodges the punch combination from Griffin.
Griffin misses with a jab to the body
and King scores with a counter punch that sends Griffin to the canvas! King smells blood - he's punishing Griffin with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Griffin has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brian King! Brian King retains his heavyweight title!
