PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dewayne Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pain Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter comes to the cage accompanied by Lil Wayne . Peters is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: BringThe Pain. Pain Peters told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dewayne Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pain Peters!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peters throws a hook to the side of Carter's head but Carter sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Peters looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carter is fending him off so far but Peters persists. Nope, Carter circles away and we're back to standing.

Peters shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Carter is trying to defend but Peters finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Peters is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Carter is defending against the submission attempts here by Peters.

Peters is working for a submission of some sort.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Peters is looking for a kimura but Carter is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Peters to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peters is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Peters is looking to advance position but Carter won't allow it.

Peters is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Carter defends it well.
Peters frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Peters moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Carter has worked his arm free - good work by Carter!

Peters tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Peters has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Peters looks gassed!

Peters tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carter is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Peters is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Carter is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Peters is trying to get an arm triangle but Carter is defending well.

Peters goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Carter rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Peters's guard! Nice work there by Carter!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Peters is looking for a triangle but Carter pushes his legs off easily.

Peters looking for subs off his back but Carter has passed one foot through into half guard.

Peters is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Carter pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pain Peters dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Peters shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Carter manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Peters forces his way into half guard.

Peters is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Carter has managed to free his arm - good work.

Peters is working for a kimura but Carter is defending it quite comfortably.

Peters is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Carter sees it coming and defends easily.
Peters is breathing heavily.

Peters wants to work for an arm triangle but Carter is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Peters is working for a kimura but Carter is defending it quite comfortably.

Peters looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Peters seems to be looking for submissions.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Carter regains full guard. Nicely done.

Peters drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Carter dives on top into guard.

Peters is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Carter is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Peters looking for subs off his back but Carter has passed one foot through into half guard.

Carter seems to be working for a kimura but Peters defends the submission attempt.
Peters wants to get back to full guard but Carter has passed into side control.
Peters is desperately trying to improve his position but Carter has a good base and remains in mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Peters bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Peters drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Carter dives on top into guard.

Carter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Peters has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carter has managed to get both his arms back between Peters's legs - danger averted.
Carter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Peters is keeping the position for now.

Peters is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Carter rolls with it to try and escape but Peters cranks on the arm and Carter is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Pain Peters!
