Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BJ Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dennis Palmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, BJ Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Palmer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sanchez tries to strike from the bottom.
Sanchez throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Palmer looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Palmer trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanchez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Palmer wants to pass the guard but Sanchez is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Palmer looking to sit in guard and control but Sanchez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Palmer wants to stand but Sanchez is controlling the position.
Sanchez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Sanchez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Palmer is keeping the position for now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Sanchez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Palmer did well to prevent Sanchez getting side control.
Sanchez is thwarting Palmer's attempts to control the position.
Palmer is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sanchez is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Sanchez throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Palmer won't allow Sanchez to pass to mount.
Palmer on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Sanchez thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sanchez is trying to work for a kimura but Palmer is defending well.

Sanchez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Palmer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sanchez on the ground.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Palmer is looking for a sweep. Sanchez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Palmer is trying to stand up here but Sanchez is controlling him well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Palmer gets caught flat footed, as Sanchez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Sanchez is looking to work some ground and pound but Palmer has wrist control.

Sanchez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sanchez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

and Palmer counters with a shoot takedown. Sanchez fights it but they end up in guard.

Sanchez is in trouble now - Palmer has advanced to mount!

Palmer goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Sanchez is on top in guard.
Sanchez is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Palmer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Sanchez manages to get to full guard.

Palmer wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.

Sanchez had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Palmer is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sanchez Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Palmer's back instead.
Palmer breaks Sanchez's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Palmer wants to pass the guard but Sanchez is keeping the position.

Sanchez has his foot on Palmer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Palmer works his way back into a safe position though.
Palmer stands and throws Sanchez's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Palmer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sanchez keeps working.
Sanchez manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Palmer wants to hit a switch here but Sanchez passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Palmer there!

Sanchez is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Palmer has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Palmer is looking to get to half guard.

Sanchez looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but BJ Sanchez will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Palmer fails with the takedown

Palmer is in trouble now - Sanchez has advanced to mount!
Sanchez wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Sanchez lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Palmer holds on to Sanchez as tight as he can, avoiding damage.
Sanchez pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Palmer is looking to improve his position but Sanchez isn't that keen on the idea.
Sanchez lands a big shot there that rocks Palmer but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Palmer is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Palmer is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Palmer taking shots to the head.
Sanchez lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Palmer hang on?

Sanchez looking for a guillotine from mount but Palmer is having none of it.
Sanchez forces the positional change into back control.

Palmer tries to escape but Sanchez has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Palmer is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sanchez is looking for the choke from the back position but Palmer is controlling his hands well.
Palmer manages to reverse the position and now he's in Sanchez's guard. Nice work there by Palmer.
Palmer wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.

Sanchez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Palmer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sanchez has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Palmer should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Sanchez has tightened it up now! Palmer should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
