The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Partridge connects with a right hand. wayne shakes it off.

wayne shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Partridge sprawls well. Partridge wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. wayne gets slowly back to his feet.

Partridge misses with a few strikes there.

Partridge tries to keep at a distance but wayne has taken the fight into the clinch.
wayne creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Partridge tries to break the clinch but wayne is controlling the position.
Partridge has had enough of the clinch but wayne keeps him there for the moment.

wayne has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Partridge clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Partridge looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Partridge is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if wayne gets his way!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Partridge is trying to stand up here but wayne is controlling him well.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Partridge throws out a loose jab but wayne uses good head movement to avoid it.
wayne tries to close the distance and clinch up but Partridge swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Partridge misses with a double jab.
wayne looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Partridge is fending him off so far but wayne persists. Nope, Partridge circles away and we're back to standing.

A frustrated look appears on Partridge's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Partridge wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
wayne pushes off an throws an elbow but Partridge leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
wayne throws an elbow that misses.
wayne drops down looking for an ankle pick but Partridge pulls his leg out and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Partridge scores with a jab. wayne acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Partridge lands a left and a right that send wayne crashing to the mat, dazed. Partridge thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

The cut above jon wayne's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
wayne is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Partridge connects with a superb combination that knocks wayne out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Partridge before he can land any more shots to the unconscious wayne!
