Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DAWSON looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
DAWSON looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
DAWSON stopping the sweep attempt from James.
DAWSON wants to control from the top but James keeps moving.
James is trying to control the position from the bottom.
James wants to sweep here but DAWSON controlling him for the moment.

DAWSON is really struggling to control James but he's trying to hold on to the position.
James has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. DAWSON is working away from the top position though.
James is looking for a sweep. DAWSON is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

DAWSON tries to stand but his hand is stuck under James.
DAWSON knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for James on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
James is staying active underneath DAWSON, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

DAWSON closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
DAWSON is trying to get an arm triangle but James is defending well.
DAWSON is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but James is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
DAWSON goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, James rolls with the submission and now he's on top in DAWSON's guard! Nice work there by James!

James is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
James wants to lay and pray for a moment but DAWSON keeps working.

DAWSON is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

James is working for a guillotine from mount but DAWSON frees his head quite easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
DAWSON wants to control but James is keeping busy.
James seems to be looking for submissions.
DAWSON is not content to let James control the position.

That was a close second round but I would say that even DAWSON will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
DAWSON throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. James was covering up waiting for the punch and DAWSON finishes the takedown easily into guard.

DAWSON shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than DAWSON was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

DAWSON can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as James is looking to escape.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
James is trying desperately to improve position.
DAWSON content just to control the position here.
James tries to lock up and control but DAWSON gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
DAWSON stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
DAWSON looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
DAWSON is trying to control. James wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

James is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. DAWSON is aware though and is defending well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
DAWSON thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
James fails with the takedown
and DAWSON decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in James's guard.
DAWSON is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
James seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
