PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Almeida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angel Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Almeida comes to the cage accompanied by 24 theme song. The crowd seem to be enjoying Pain's choice of entrance music: "Meet the Monster" Five Finger Death Punch. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pain shoots in and bounces Almeida off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Pain would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Pain trying to control the position from guard on top but Almeida is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Almeida kicks Pain off and gets to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Almeida looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Almeida rushes Pain and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Almeida wants to stand up but Pain is controlling him.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Almeida bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pain's guard.

Almeida drops back looking for a leg! Pain is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pain manages to kick Almeida off! Almeida jumps back into Pain's guard.

Almeida thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Pain is trying to stand back up but Almeida is controlling him
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Pain tries to clinch

and Almeida counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pain's guard now.
Pain pulls Almeida in close to prevent any damage.

Almeida drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Almeida jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Almeida is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pain has escaped the position, nice work there.
Almeida is breathing heavily.

You can see the frustration on Pain's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Almeida is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pain is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Almeida is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pain knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Almeida in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Pain tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Almeida!
