Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between small power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and quick star (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

star gets a takedown into half guard.
power is trying to stand.
power trying to control but star postures up.
power is staying active underneath star, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
power is trying to stand back up but star is controlling him

power kicks off star and gets to his feet.
power looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? star is fending him off so far but power persists. Nope, star circles away and we're back to standing.
power is breathing heavily.
power fails with the takedown

and star moves into the clinch.

star breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

star closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. power did well to prevent star getting side control.

star wants to work for an arm triangle but power is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

power has one foot on star's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

power throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
star fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but power avoids it really well and circles away.
power takes a kick to the side of the head.
star takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

star is working an open guard so power takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
power tries to clinch but star moves out of range.
star uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from power.
star shoots in looking for a takedown. power tries to sprawl out of it but star keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. power manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
star should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
star takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
star showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from power.

star forces power back against the ropes and clinches.
star dodges an elbow strike from power.
star tries to stall but power uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
power has had enough of the clinch but star keeps him there for the moment.

power fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

star is trying to drag power to the mat but power just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
small power has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of quick star.

small power seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
star stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from power.

power wants to get up but he can't break star's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
star wants to stand but power is controlling the position.
power has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of star is proving hard to escape from.

power gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Left hook, right uppercut from power.
star fails with the takedown

and power counters with a nice double leg into guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
star is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

power is trying to stand back up but star is controlling him
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
power wants to stand back up but star manages to pass into side control.
power regains half guard.
power wants to control but star is keeping busy and won't allow it.
power is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
power lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.
power wants to improve his position but star is controlling well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
star wants to control but power is keeping him busy.
star is taking a breather. power says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
power moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
star throwing strikes from guard but power blocks nicely.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
power throws a head kick but star moves out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
star tries to stall but power uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
A frustrated look appears on power's face as he tries to break the clinch.

power breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
power uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before star has time to react.
power blocks a head kick by star.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
power dives in and grabs star's left leg, looking for a takedown. star pushes down on power's head and hops out.
star shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts power as he jumps to the side.
star has his takedown stuffed
and power finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
small power has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of quick star.
star tries to close the distance and clinch up but power swats him away and circles back towards the center.
power moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
A chopping leg kick lands by power.

star closes the distance and clinches.

star escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
power throws a quick inside leg kick.
power changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. star tries to avoid it but power manages to keep hold of a leg and drag star to the ground. star escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

star looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? power is fending him off so far but star persists. Nope, power circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

quick star showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! power's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

power wants to land a leg kick but star is out of range.
power thows a leg kick but star checks it

and star counters with a takedown into side control.
star lands a few punches from side control.
power can't do much from the bottom here.
power bucks up and tries to throw star off but instead star has got his back!
power trying to control but not successfully.
power is trying to get back to his feet but star has full control of the position and if anything, power has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
star has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for power.
star is looking to finish with some ground and pound!

power rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
power is trying to stand back up but star is controlling him

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

star gets a clinch.
star has power pressed against the ropes, preventing power from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
power is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.

star breaks the clinch.
power scores with a one two! star had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
power finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

star shoots in and bounces power off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
power is looking to stand up but star isn't so interested in that idea.
power is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
power wants to get back to his feet but star is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
power throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
star trying to control the position from guard on top but power is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

star is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
star might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control power kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
power wants to stand but star is controlling the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A combination from power does no damage.
power takes a swing at star's ribcage but misses.
Some bone on bone action there as star checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
star shoots in for a takedown but power shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

power closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

star pulls guard.
power trying to control the position from guard on top but star is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
star is trying to control the position but power postures up.

power drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but star manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now power has star in his guard.
power wants to stand but star is controlling the position.

power pushes star off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
power misses with the combination.

And that's the end of the fight!
quick star comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think star has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
