Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between KO Kaleb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwight Elkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, KO Kaleb!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dwight Elkins!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Elkins.
Kaleb leaves Elkins with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Elkins dodges the punch combination from Kaleb.
Elkins throws a head kick but Kaleb moves out of range.
Kaleb fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Elkins manages to avoid it.
Elkins tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kaleb sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Elkins somewhat.
Kaleb avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Kaleb changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Elkins throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kaleb was covering up waiting for the punch and Elkins finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Elkins works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Elkins is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Elkins throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Elkins looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kaleb with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kaleb is trying to get back to full guard.
Kaleb knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Elkins on the ground.
Kaleb keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Elkins seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Kaleb pushes Elkins off looking to stand but Elkins dives back in and keeps control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kaleb won't allow Elkins to pass to mount.
Kaleb wants to improve his position but Elkins is controlling well.
Elkins is pressing down on Kaleb's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kaleb is holding on for now.
Elkins wants to control but Kaleb is keeping him busy.
Elkins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kaleb has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Elkins is working away from the top position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The fight moves into the clinch position.

Elkins has Kaleb pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Elkins pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kaleb tumbling to the mat - Elkins dives into Kaleb's guard.
Elkins working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Elkins controls from within his opponent's guard.
Elkins chips away with some ground and pound.

Kaleb on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kaleb tries to get out of the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kaleb doesn't manage to clinch there - Elkins circles away.

Kaleb throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Elkins slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Kaleb pushes Elkins away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Elkins gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Elkins scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kaleb to see if he's OK.

Elkins has hold of Kaleb's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kaleb manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Kaleb is bucking up trying to escape but Elkins cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dwight Elkins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Kaleb tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kaleb fails to land with a series of punches.

Elkins shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kaleb's guard.

Elkins tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Elkins has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
You can see the frustration on Kaleb's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kaleb is not content to let Elkins control the position.

Elkins lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Dwight Elkins is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Elkins's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Kaleb wants to try and get back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Despite being in the dominant position, Dwight Elkins just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kaleb fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
KO Kaleb is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Elkins lands a head kick. Kaleb smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
KO Kaleb has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Elkins avoids the body shot from Kaleb.
Elkins has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Elkins is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kaleb's half guard.
