Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Konan Obrien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Optimus Maximus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Optimus Maximus has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maximus slips a jab from Obrien.
Obrien fails with a takedown attempt.
Obrien connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Maximus momentarily.

It looks like Optimus Maximus has been cut.
Maximus shoots in for a double leg but Obrien sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Obrien moves in looking to clinch but Maximus pushes him off.
Maximus misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Obrien.

Maximus closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Maximus lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maximus is looking to work some ground and pound but Obrien has wrist control.
Obrien utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Maximus has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Obrien is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Maximus is controlling him.

Maximus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Obrien swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Obrien misses with a straight right.
Obrien lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Maximus slips under a jab from Obrien.
Maximus moves out of range as Obrien strikes.
Obrien looks to land a combination. Maximus sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Obrien fails with an attempt to clinch.
Obrien scores with a decent looking hook.

That has opened up Optimus Maximus's cut even more.
Obrien throws a right and a left that Maximus avoids nicely.
Obrien works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

The cut above Optimus Maximus's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Obrien loads up on a big right hand but Maximus slips the punch.

Obrien bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Maximus! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Maximus is rocked!

Optimus Maximus's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Optimus Maximus's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
