Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kiiba Yap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kiiba Yap is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rocky Fighter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kiiba Yap!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Fighter, right into the meat.
Yap looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Nice takedown defense from Yap. No joy for Fighter on that attempt.

Fighter darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yap is trying to maintain the position but Fighter is very close to passing his half guard.
Yap manages to get to full guard.
Fighter wants to control from the top but Yap keeps moving.
Yap trying to control the position here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yap keeping moving, preventing Fighter from controlling successfully.
Fighter wants to get up but he can't break Yap's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Fighter working some strikes from top position.
Fighter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yap on the ground.
Fighter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yap swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Fighter trying to control the position from guard on top but Yap is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Yap wants to sweep but no luck.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Fighter misses with a head kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fighter ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Fighter clinches up against the cage.
Fighter wants a takedown.
Fighter is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Yap gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocky Fighter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fighter pulls guard effortlessly.
Yap trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Fighter working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Yap.
Fighter looking to control.
Fighter keeping moving, preventing Yap from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Fighter tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Yap paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Fighter closes this distance looking for a takedown but Yap circles away.
No luck for Fighter with that takedown attempt.
Fighter throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yap's waist but Yap gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fighter off to one side.
Yap keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fighter throws the kick towards the body but Yap avoids it.

Yap gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fighter throwing strikes but missing.
Yap manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Yap tries to control but Fighter wriggling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rocky Fighter dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Fighter shoots for a double leg takedown but Yap sprawls well. He's pushed Fighter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rocky Fighter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fighter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocky Fighter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fighter looks for a takedown but Yap sprawls well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter is looking to clinch but Yap is avoiding it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Fighter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fighter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Fighter looking for subs off his back but Yap has passed one foot through into half guard.

Yap thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Fighter won't allow Yap to pass to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Fighter throws a sloppy head kick and Yap moves out of range easily.
Fighter shoots and misses

and Yap counters with a nice double leg into side control. Fighter won't be happy with that.
Fighter tries to control but Yap manages to take his back.
Fighter wants to get back to his feet.
Fighter trying to control the hands but Yap breaks the grip.

Fighter is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Yap is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Yap keeps control of the position as Fighter tries to break free.
Yap throwing sloppy strikes.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Yap's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Fighter trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Yap patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Yap struggling to keep hold of the position.
Fighter wants to get back to his feet.

Yap is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Fighter defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Fighter has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Yap is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Fighter knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Fighter for a finish.
Yap thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kiiba Yap showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Fighter changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Yap gets caught flat footed, as Fighter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Yap looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Fighter trying to control the position from guard on top but Yap is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kiiba Yap has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Fighter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Yap is keeping the position for now.
Fighter trying to control the position from guard on top but Yap is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Fighter shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Yap showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Fighter.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Fighter.

Yap closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fighter is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Yap controlling the position from side mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter dodges the ground and pound from Yap.
Fighter tries to buck Yap off but Yap is having none of it.
Fighter can't do much from the bottom here.
Fighter is looking for a sweep.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Yap shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Yap was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Yap tries to control but Fighter wriggling away.
Yap avoids the attempt from Fighter to control.
Yap looking to control and managing it successfully.
Fighter tries to lock up and control but Yap gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Yap is going olschool here, as he tries to force Fighter to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Fighter shrugs it off.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kiiba Yap comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Yap has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
