Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Beam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Portos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beam comes to the cage accompanied by The Gambler. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Beam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fred Portos!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Portos is looking to clinch.
Beam tries for a takedown but Portos sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Beam blocks a low kick nicely.

Portos gets caught flat footed, as Beam shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Beam is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Portos is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Portos has escaped and now he's on top!

Portos avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Beam controls Portos momentarily but Portos frees himself.
Portos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beam. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Beam throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Portos escapes and throws Beam's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Portos takes a little break here. Beam wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Beam is looking to reverse the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Beam is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Portos off and has taken his back!

Beam is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Portos has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Portos!

Portos closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Beam is trying to escape the position but Portos is controlling the position.
Portos lands an elbow.
Portos wants to control but Beam is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beam sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Beam is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Portos pulls his head out easily.
Portos is figuring out what he wants to do next.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jim Beam will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Fred Portos has got the better of the ground game so far.

Beam looking for subs off his back but Portos has passed one foot through into half guard.
Still in half guard, Portos seems content to control.

Portos wants to stand up but Beam has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Beam is looking for a sweep. Portos is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Portos is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Portos postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Beam to stand up.

Portos shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Beam looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Beam is working an open guard so Portos takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Portos pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Portos counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Portos.

Beam wants to control the position but Portos says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Portos is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Beam is pressing down on Portos's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Portos lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Beam will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Portos thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Portos passes Beam's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Beam gets back to full guard.
Beam is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Beam looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Portos has picked Beam up and slammed him! Beam can't keep hold of the triangle and Portos manages to pass to side control!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fred Portos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Portos wants to work for an arm triangle but Beam is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Beam has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Portos can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Portos throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Beam was covering up waiting for the punch and Portos finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Beam throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Portos is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Beam wants to hit a switch here but Portos passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Beam there!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Beam is desperately trying to improve his position but Portos has a good base and remains in mount.
Portos tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Let's hope that Portos has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Portos prevents Beam from getting the reversal.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fred Portos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Portos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
