Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bud Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Death Row (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Row comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Who Da Champion kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bud Spencer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Death Row!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Sergei Dronov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Row looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Spencer misses with a two punch combination.

Spencer tries to close the distance and clinch but Row swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Row tries for a takedown but Spencer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Row looking to sit in guard and control but Spencer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Row has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Row working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Spencer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Spencer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Row is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Spencer defends it well.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Row drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Spencer manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Row has Spencer in his guard.
Spencer is looking to work some ground and pound but Row has wrist control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Spencer is in close to Row's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Row looking for a guillotine here but Spencer defends easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Spencer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Row has his foot on Spencer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Spencer works his way back into a safe position though.

Row had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Spencer is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Row Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Spencer's back instead.

Row is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Spencer has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Spencer!

Spencer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Row has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Spencer has managed to get both his arms back between Row's legs - danger averted.
Row is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Row shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Spencer as he jumps to the side.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bud Spencer.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Spencer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
