Giant's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Lollipop - Lil' Wayne. Karelin has chosen Russian National Anthem as his entrance music. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giant avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Giant throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Giant throws a right hand that Karelin ducks under and follows up with a left that Karelin also avoids with ease.
Giant throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Giant misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Giant throws out a leg kick but Karelin moves out of range and Giant only half commits.
Gentle Giant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
