Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Abaya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Mack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Mack's choice of entrance music: Navras. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mack uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Abaya.
Abaya looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Abaya slaps away a takedown attempt from Mack, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Mack drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Mack creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Abaya sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Mack tries to score with some ground and pound. Abaya controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ground and pound from Mack seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Mack postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Abaya parries the strikes from Mack easily there. Mack is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Abaya to escape.
Sloppy strikes there by Mack.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mack swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The fighters circling - Abaya throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Abaya throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mack steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Abaya.
Mack looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mack avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Abaya getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Abaya's corner calls for a 1-2. Abaya obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Mack fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mack closes the distance and pushes Abaya back into the cage.
Mack drops down looking for an ankle pick but Abaya pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mark Abaya has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Mack.
Mack closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Abaya takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Dave Mack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mack falls off balance throwing a combination
and Abaya counters with a nice body shot.
Mack looks gassed!
The crowd cheers as Abaya lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mack doesn't seem phased though.
It looks like Dave Mack has been cut.
Mack has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Mack there as he acknowledges the shot.
Abaya lands a big uppercut and Mack crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Mack looks OK. Abaya waves Mack back to his feet!
Mack is rocked!
Abaya comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Mack is still on wobbly legs! Can Abaya finish him?
Abaya misses with a hook. Mack ducked under it nicely.
Mack seems to have recovered his senses.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Abaya lands a big uppercut and Mack crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Mack looks OK. Abaya waves Mack back to his feet!
Mack takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Abaya cracks Mack with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Mack looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Abaya finish him?
Abaya fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Mack to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Mack looks to clinch but Abaya throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Mack taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Mark Abaya!
