Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vadim Finkle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergeant Peppers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Finkle comes to the cage accompanied by NWO. Peppers has chosen Lip Gloss and Black--as made famous by Atreyu as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peppers throws a lazy right hand but Finkle sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Finkle dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Finkle misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Peppers throws a jab when Finkle was well out of range.
Finkle uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Peppers.
Peppers throws the left hand but Finkle avoids the punch easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Finkle rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Peppers moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Peppers closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Peppers lands in his opponent's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Peppers drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Finkle dives on top into guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Peppers advances to half guard.
Peppers uses his free foot to push down on Finkle's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Finkle.

Peppers looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Peppers bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Peppers goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Finkle has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Peppers but great work by Finkle.

Finkle wants to work for an arm triangle but Peppers is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Peppers is striking well from the back but Finkle escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
