Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hajime Susumu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Tomasz Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Kowalski looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nice sprawl there from Susumu as Kowalski shoots in.
Kowalski shoots for a double leg takedown but Susumu sprawls well. He's pushed Kowalski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kowalski has a takedown stuffed.
Hajime Susumu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tomasz Kowalski.
Kowalski tries to clinch but Susumu is having none of it.

Kowalski throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Kowalski swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kowalski takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Kowalski blocks a body shot from Susumu.
Susumu struggles to land a body shot inside as Kowalski controls his hands.
Susumu misses with a punch to the body.

Susumu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Kowalski counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kowalski.

Susumu had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kowalski is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Susumu Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kowalski's back instead.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kowalski is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Susumu off. It looks like it's working - Susumu slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Kowalski displaying calm under pressure there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kowalski misses with a takedown attempt - Susumu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Kowalski tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Tomasz Kowalski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kowalski stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Susumu.

Kowalski throws a body punch but Susumu moves out of range.
Kowalski throws a lazy right hand but Susumu sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Kowalski keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Susumu takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Kowalski swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tomasz Kowalski is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kowalski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Susumu is fending him off so far but Kowalski persists. Nope, Susumu circles away and we're back to standing.

Susumu fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kowalski.
Susumu feints and then cracks Kowalski's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kowalski down.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Kowalski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Susumu as he avoids it easily.

Kowalski doesn't manage to clinch there - Susumu circles away.

Kowalski shoots in and drives through. Susumu sprawls well.
Kowalski ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Kowalski takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Kowalski tries to score a power double leg takedown but Susumu sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kowalski somewhat.

That's time! Susumu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Susumu throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Kowalski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Susumu scores with the left hand. Kowalski knows he should have avoided that one.
Kowalski shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Susumu pinned against the cage. Susumu gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Susumu escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Some bone on bone action there as Kowalski checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Kowalski drops back looking for a leg! Susumu is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Susumu manages to kick Kowalski off! Kowalski jumps back into Susumu's guard.

Susumu looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kowalski has picked Susumu up and slammed him! Susumu can't keep hold of the triangle and Kowalski manages to pass to side control!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kowalski misses with a punch to the head.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Kowalski's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Kowalski doesn't have the hooks in and Susumu manages to turn into his guard.
Kowalski can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Susumu controls the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kowalski shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Susumu but Susumu pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Susumu connects with a solid leg kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tomasz Kowalski comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Susumu has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
